Good things come in TinyURL’s

Sometimes in the internet world you have to put looooooong Web Addresses (Uniform Resource Locator’s) into your emails or other correspondence. Depending on the your recipient’s email program, they can break or get jumbled up.

If this happens to you, try TinyURL.

It shrinks your unwieldy URL into a short and sweet web address to put into emails.

Check out this example: This is the Mapquest map URL for HCPL’s Norrisville Branch.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?search
type=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab
=home&formtype=address&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude
=&name=&phone=&level=&cat=&address=5310+Norrisville
+Road%2C++&city=+White+Hall&state=MD&zipcode=21161

And here it is in a TinyURL:

http://tinyurl.com/yvxs9l

See, just a little bit of a difference in size.
