Learning 2.0 Project — Number 22 of 23ish Things — Library Thing

22. Take a look at the titles available on Overdrive or NetLibrary or Project Gutenburg and learn about downloadable audiobooks.

I chose to explore Project Gutenburg for my audiobooks selection.    They offer free audiobooks and e-books out of the public domain read by volunteers, and organized on a wiki.   How cool and using new web tools is that?  Since they are books in the public domain, they tend to be older classics but that is ok.  I don’t mind hearing a few literary classics read either by human voices or by computer voices.

The folks who volunteer at LiteralSystems.org and Librivox provide Project Gutenburg with the free public domain audiobook content.  Both sites are dedicated to freeing up literature on the web.   Another example of someone doing some very cool thing on the web and giving it away for free.
